COVID-19 GUIDELINES

The following are required protocols for participation at Christ the King Athletic Academy. Anyone failing to adhere to these requirements may be asked to leave the field.

  • Temperatures of all players, coaches, and volunteers will be taken prior to all practices and games. All CDC guidelines will be followed.
  • For all fields, no more than 2 coaches in the dugout for each team at any given time.  Only authorized Coaches, CKAA Board members, Dugout parents and rostered players are allowed on the fields.
  •  There shall be no sharing of food, snacks, or drinks for practices or games.  In addition, sunflower seeds will not be allowed at the park, nor will they be sold by our concession stand.
  • Players and coaches may enter the field through the dugouts.  All equipment, drinks, bags, or anything else shall be placed in the assigned buckets.
  • Batting cages and soft toss nets are ONLY to be used with a one pitcher and one batter. Social distancing should be utilized when in waiting.
  • Social distancing should be practiced on the bleachers and surrounding areas.  Spectators are encouraged to bring their own seating and space out appropriately along the fence lines. 
  • Players should supply their own water bottles, sports drinks, etc.  Shared water coolers are not allowed. 
  • There shall be no sharing of equipment by players. This includes ANY part of the uniform, gloves, bats, and catchers equipment.  If a catcher does not own or have their own equipment, they will need to purchase a set or speak with their coach about a set loaned by CKAA. 
  • Sanitizer will be provided when it is available. Families are asked to bring their own sanitizer or other means to disinfect equipment or personal belongings.

BASEBALL EXPECTATIONS

To develop youth through sports; both on the field and off, by focusing on fundamentals, sportsmanship, great coaching and the right way to handle competition that will last a lifetime.

Baseball Ready
• Go to your respective dugout, hang your bag and put your gear in your bucket. All gear must be labeled with child’s name.
• Please make sure child uses restroom prior to practice/game.
• If child needs to use restroom during a game, a parent/guardian needs to accompany them to the restroom.

Dugout Rules
• No food in the dugout due to food allergies of our team players.
• Only those who have taken the Protecting God’s Children and have been fingerprinted are allowed in the dugout with the children. This is to make sure our children are safe.
     a. If you plan on coaching, being assistant coach and/or anticipating helping on the field during practice, in the dugout or on the field during the 
         season, you must take the Protecting God’s Children course and be fingerprinted.
     b. A course will be offered at the beginning of the season to all those interested. Please contact Bridgette Dunkley at [email protected] to  participate in a class and get information on how to get fingerprinted.
• No child/parent allowed on the field unless they are a player or approved volunteer.

Drop-off/Pick-up
• Parents must stay on CTK property during practices and games.
• Children to be released to specified adult (parent or guardian) at child’s respective dugout.

Frequently Asked Questions

What sports does CKAA oversee?

CKAA has Instructional baseball (3-4 years old), Majors baseball (5-6 years old), and Rookie (7-8 years old).

Where are CKAA practices and games held?

CKAA practices and games are held at the St. Michaels Field at Christ the King Catholic School at 742 Arlington Road, Jacksonville Florida 32211.

What will my player's practice and game schedule be?


For Instructional T-ball, practice is held right before the game. For Majors T-Ball, practice is once a week on a weeknight. Your coach will announce practice days and times at your first meeting which usually start around 6:00 in the evening. 

When does registration take place?

Fall registration generally runs from late July through the end of August. Spring registration generally runs from January through the end of February. The schedule for registration will be posted on our home page.
