JoJo’s Fastpitch Clinic for Softball – Jojo Peterson is currently a D2 Pitcher for National Champions Edward Waters College.  She started her ball career at CKAA, played her middle school ball at Christ the King while attending Morning Star then played her high school softball at Sandalwood.  Jojo has excelled at pitching since middle school where she began taking her pitching seriously and worked extremely hard at her craft.  Now Jojo wants to pass along her extensive knowledge, passion, and experience to the ladies of CKAA.  This clinic has the potential to extend beyond the summer.

In addition, any player registered while the Pitcher’s Fielding Academy is in session will be able to participate in this great clinic for FREE.  See the description and additional value you will get!  CKAA is committed to introducing softball for the girls and providing access to the necessary skills to our players.  Regardless of your player’s experience this camp is for you!

Catcher’s Academy – This weekly clinic is geared toward players in both softball and baseball that want to play the position of catcher.  Here you will work on techniques for catching, blocking, and throwing.  There will be very high repetition on catching technique and working hard on hand eye coordination as well as hand positioning and proper framing techniques. In addition, you will also work on situations for bunting, covering home and backing up.  This camp is a more specialized camp and is intended for players ages 7 and up. 

First Basemen Academy – This weekly clinic is geared toward players in both softball and baseball that want to play the position of first base.  There will be very high repetition on proper catching techniques from different places on the field, stretching to the ball, how to deal with short hops and scoping the ball.  Players will also work hard at understanding backhand techniques, forehand techniques and how to properly deal with balls in the dirt. In addition, you will also work on situations for covering first when the ball is hit to you and high repetition on properly fielding ground balls.  This camp is a more specialized camp and is intended for players ages 7 and up. 

Pitcher’s Fielding Academy - This weekly clinic is geared toward players in both softball and baseball that want to play the position of pitcher.  There is so much more to the pitching position than throwing balls and strikes.  Once the ball is put in play there are many things to know and learn about the position.  Players will focus on bunting situations, balls hit to first base and how to cover first as well as how to field balls hit back to them.  Players will learn and understand proper footwork to handle balls from different throwing positions.  In addition, players will also learn and practice how to properly back up bases in the correct situations.  Finally, there will be high repetition on fielding balls and being ready after the pitch.  This camp is a more specialized camp and is intended for players ages 7 and up. 

Flag Football Camp – This weekly camp is to introduce and refine fundamental skills in the game of flag football.  These skills are transferrable to tackle football one day.  This is a more general camp that will focus on most areas of the game like catching, routes, handoffs, footwork, stances, agility and flag pulling.  Players will learn proper technique and have good repetitions to build on for the season in the areas already listed.  At appropriate times, players will be separated where more advanced and older campers will learn and practice more advanced skills, while newer and younger campers will spend more time on fundamentals for future success like higher repetition on catching as an example.  This camp is a more generalized camp and is intended for players ages 5 and up. 

Coach Tim’s and Chris’ Softball/Baseball Camp for Beginners – This weekly camp is to introduce the games of baseball and softball to newer or younger players that still need to learn the basic skills of the game.  Here players will learn and practice through repetition, the foundational skills of catching, throwing, hitting, and sliding to name a few.  Each week will build and advance at the pace of the players.  The intention is for the skills learned here are used as a solid foundation for the player to continue to develop in upcoming seasons of their sport. This camp is a more generalized camp and is intended for players in rising grades 3rd and up. 

Coach Tim’s and Chris’ Softball/Baseball Camp for Intermediate/Advanced Players – This weekly camp will build on skills needed to advance in the games of softball and baseball.  Players will be taught the foundational skills to ensure a good base, but rapidly learn other necessary skills to that their game to the next level.  Players will focus on the finer points of of catching, throwing, hitting, and sliding to name a few.  In addition, players will also receive higher repetition in several areas to further reinforce great habits.  Each week will build and advance at the pace of the players.  This camp is a more generalized camp and is intended for players in rising grades 4th and up. 

Coach Anthony’s T-Ball Camp – This four-day camp will be held in mid-July and focuses the game on T-ball aged players.  Here players will learn how to catch, throw, field, hit and slide using drills and games intended to keep the attention of the players and allow them to learn necessary skills for success in T-Ball and beyond.  This camp is a more generalized camp and is intended for players ages 5 and 6. 

Coach Jeff’s 8u Camp – This five-day camp will be held in mid-July and focuses the game on 8u aged baseball and softball players.  Here players will learn how to, and reinforce catching, throwing, fielding, hitting, and sliding using drills and games intended to keep the attention of the players and allow them to learn necessary skills for success in 8u and beyond.  This camp is a more generalized camp and is intended for players ages 7 and 8.
